The solo buttons on the Rock Band Stratocaster controller are a great addition to “rhythm game” controllers. However, they can be difficult to use during gameplay, especially if you have large hands. Wouldn’t it be great if you were able to use the standard fret buttons to act just like the solo buttons, ie no strumming during solo sections or Big Rock Endings? Well, that’s what this extremely simple mod sets out to do.
The Guitar Hero III wireless Les Paul controller is, in my opinion, the best guitar controller on the market and is what I use as my primary guitar for Rock Band. However, there is a critical design/manufacturing problem with the detachable neck that can cause a lot of grief and missed notes - a loose neck.
While this mod currently applies only to Xbox 360 Rock Band players, it’s still applicable to both the 360 and PS3 versions of the GH III wireless Les Paul controller. The Wii version, for what ever reason, doesn’t seem to be afflicted with this problem. Read More…
Drum mutes have been keeping parents and neighbors of drummers happy since they first hit the market. Since the biggest complaint about Rock Band, well besides faulty hardware, is the noise that the drums make, I thought it would be good to see how drum mutes designed for a real drum set would work on their virtual counterparts. Plain and simply, Rock Band drum pedals break. If your pedal hasn’t already broke or started to crack, it’s not a matter of if it will, it’s a matter of when it will. The Foam and Felt drum silencing mod is one of the first mods created in order to help dampen the “clacking” noise that the stock Rock Band drum pads create when played. This mod is also one of the easiest to create and least expensive to implement.
