This week we get the 4-3-2 (four tracks from three artists at two different price points).  The track from the Offspring is another day and date release with their new album “Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace” which also hits store shelves today.  The A7X tracks come from their recently released self-titled album.  If you’ve never heard of Crooked X before, well I guess you never play the bonus tracks as their song “Nightmare” was featured on the Rock Band disc. Seeing as how the average age of the band members in Crooked X is only 13, I have a feeling that we’ll be hearing a lot more from these guys for awhile.

The track listing and price points for each song can be found after the jump.

The weekly Rock Band DLC train doesn’t stop.  This week Harmonix is offering four songs, three from artists you’ve probably never heard of and the fourth from a band that might sound familiar.  The top three bands from 2007′s Dew Circuit Breakout, presented by Mtv2, are available in the aptly titled “Mtv2 Pack” for the “I’ve never heard of these bands before, but for that price I can’t resist” price of 240 MSP/$2.99 USD for all three or they can be purchased individually for 80 MSP/$0.99 USD.

For an extra bonus, they are providing a track by Maximo Park for the standard fare of 160 MSP/ $1.99 USD.  Track listings to follow: Read More…

Who's Next Album CoverWhen Harmonix announced that the first DLC album would be Judas Priest’s “Screaming For Vengance”, mysellf and countless others wondered what happened to “Who’s Next” as that was supposed to be the first DLC album released.  After much speculation and no communication on the issue from Harmonix, it appears that we may finally have an answer as to why it hasn’t been released yet. The oddest combination in DLC releases yet, or as I like to call it – the Bipolar Disorder Pack, is now available for download from the Rock Band Store.

If you are feeling angry and you need to take out some aggression, then the Disturbed pack is right up your alley.  For the bargin bin price of 240 MSP / $2.99 USD you can get the entire pack.  Otherwise, if you got your Best Buy code and you want to pick up the third song “Perfect Insanity”, or you just want to pick and choose each track individually, you can do so for the Dollar Menu price of 80 MSP / $0.99 USD.

  • “Indestructible” - Disturbed (master) Disturbed - Indestructible - Indestructible
  • “Inside the Fire” - Disturbed (master) Disturbed - Indestructible - Inside the Fire
  • “Perfect Insanity” - Disturbed (master) Disturbed - Indestructible - Perfect Insanity

Otherwise, if you’re feeling all good inside and just want to lay around the beach, then Jimmy Buffett is what you’re looking for:

  • “Margaritaville“ – Jimmy Buffett (master) Jimmy Buffett - Songs You Know By Heart: Jimmy Buffett's Greatest Hits - Margaritaville
  • “Cheeseburger in Paradise“ – Jimmy Buffett (master) Jimmy Buffett - Songs You Know By Heart: Jimmy Buffett's Greatest Hits - Cheeseburger in Paradise
  • “Volcano” – Jimmy Buffett (master) Jimmy Buffett - Songs You Know By Heart: Jimmy Buffett's Greatest Hits - Volcano

The entire Jimmy Buffett pack is available for 440 MSP / $5.49 USD, or each track can be purchased individually for 160 MSP / $1.99 USD.

According to Toki Post, at the ”Xbox 360 Presents Rock Band Live” event in France this weekend, Maxïmo Park frontman Paul Smith, who was a judge at the event, is known to be a big fan of Rock Band.

While talking about the game, he let it slip that their song “Girls Who Play Guitars” from their album “Our Earthly Pleasures” will be available for download from the Rock Band store on June 10th.

“We have an Xbox 360 with Rock Band installed in our rehearsal studio in Newcastle and it’s great for thrashing out some amazing songs,” explains Paul. “We can’t wait until our fans can do the same with Girls Who Play Guitars.”

Until this is confirmed by Harmonix, this is classified as a rumor, though it sounds pretty legit to me. Hopefully we’ll see a Brit Rock Pack next week that includes some more similar bands like the Arctic Monkeys and the Kaiser Chiefs.

The second album to be released on Rock Band is now available for download from the Rock Band Store. All 9 tracks from The Cars self-titled debut album are available in it’s entirity as a complete album download, or you can purchase the 9 DLC tracks seperately.

DevoWe are Devo!  According to Devo founder Mark Mothersbaugh, three Devo tracks are making their way to Rock Band.  Appearing on G4′s X-Play, Mark stated that they re-recorded their song “Through Being Cool” for the game and that two other unannounced songs would also be making an appearance.

No other details, such as what the other two tracks are or when they’d be released were given, and Harmonix has been silent on the issue as usual.  However, If I were a betting man, I’d put my money on “Whip It” and “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” being what the other released tracks will be.

Let the “Hysteria” begin as all nine of the European release bonus tracks are now available to download from the Rock Band in-game store.  The full set list, which I’m sure will aMuse quite a few people is below:

  • “Beetlebum” - Blur (cover) Blur - Blur - Beetlebum
  • “Hier Kommt Alex” - Die Toten Hosen (master) Die Toten Hosen - Reich & Sexy (Jubiläumsedition) [Remastered] - Hier Kommt Alex
  • “Countdown to Insanity” - H-BlockX (master) H-Blockx - Countdown to Insanity - EP - Countdown to Insanity
  • “Perfekte Welle” - Juli (master) Juli - Es ist Juli - Perfekte Welle
  • “Manu Chao” - Les Wampas (master) Les Wampas - Never Trust a Guy Who After Having Been a Punk Is Now Playing Electro - Manu Chao
  • “Hysteria” - Muse (master) Muse - Absolution - Hysteria
  • “Rock N Roll Star” - Oasis (master) Oasis - Definitely Maybe - Rock 'N' Roll Star
  • “New Wave” - Pleymo (master) Pleymo - Episode 2: Medecine Cake - New Wave
  • “Monsoon” - Tokio Hotel (master) Tokio Hotel - Scream - Monsoon

All Tracks are available for the standard fare of 160 MSP / $1.99 USD

This weeks DLC content is really hit or miss with some people.  However, all songs were a hit at the time of release and I personally can’t wait to get all three.  This weeks DLC tracks are as follows:

  •  “Hanging on the Telephone” – Blondie Blondie - Parallel Lines - Hanging On the Telephone
  • “Train in Vain” – The Clash The Clash - London Calling - Train In Vain
  • “Kool Thing” – Sonic Youth Sonic Youth - Goo - Kool Thing

All songs are available to purchase from the Rock Band store for 160 MSP/ $1.99 USD.  Unfortunately, at least for me, there is not a discount pack available for all three songs.

If you can’t get enough black eyeliner or peel yourself away from Myspace for more than five minutes, then this weeks Rock Band DLC pack has got your name written all over it.

  • “This Ain’t A Scene, It’s An Arms Race” – Fall Out Boy Fall Out Boy - Infinity On High - This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race
  • “Date With The Night” – Yeah Yeah Yeahs Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Fever to Tell - Date with the Night
  • “It Hurts” – Angels & Airwaves Angels & Airwaves - We Don't Need to Whisper - It Hurts

Each song is available individually for 160 MSP/$1.99 USD or you can get the whole lot for the ultra cool price of 440 MSP/$5.49 USD.
